Up Above The Daily Hum

Wayne's Notes from the Album:

"I still think this is one of our finest efforts. A crazy, sophisticated melody that had Steven (it was his creation) entranced for a couple of months. My lyrical lines ae alluding to the transcendental nature of fleeting instances of being. Despite life going on all around you, you are absorbed and living only in that moment... Ahh... Bliss."

Wayne's Notes from Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots 5.1

"One of Steven's greatest compositions. Originally recorded at a radio session in England for John Peel. Another song addressing the longing to be able to live and experience the moment, not in a reckless way, just a healthy escape from the planning and maintenance of everyday existence."

Wondering at the scope of my experience
Cautious so not to become
Caught up in the comfort of what I once was
Lost in all the brand new possibilities
Oh to be in the middle
Out beyond the pull of the past
Just before the future comes
Hoping for the rush of some experience
That could elevate me

Up above the daily hum
Up above the daily hum
Up above the daily hum
Up above the daily hum

When is this moment over
When does the next one begin

Out beyond the pull of the past
Just before the future comes
Hoping for the rush of some experience
That could elevate me

Up above the daily hum
Up above the daily hum
Up above the daily hum
Up above the daily hum
