Suddenly Everything Has Changed

(Death Anxiety Caused By Moments Of Boredom)

Wayne's quote from Staring At Sound:

"'Suddenly Everything Has Changed' is . . . where after my father died, I felt like my whole world was different. It's in those times when there isn't another drama going on - moments of boredom, where your mind isn't filled up by thinking about a million things, you're just putting the groceries away - that these devastating changes really hit you and you realize, 'I really am different now.'"

Putting all the vegetables away
That you bought at the grocery store today
And it goes fast
You think of the past
Suddenly everything has changed

Driving home, the sky accelerates
And the clouds all form a geometric shape
And it goes fast
You think of the past
Suddenly everything has changed

Putting all the clothes you’ve washed away
And as you’re folding up the shirts you hesitate
And it goes fast
You think of the past
And suddenly everything has changed

Live

Due to its stop-start nature, "Suddenly Everything Has Changed" has been played live less than other Soft Bulletin, but it was played during touring for the album and was resurrected for two 2006 New Year's Eve show performances.
