This show has long been mislabeled Normal, IL 1991 or sometimes vaguely labeled as Normal, IL 1989. My best estimate from my research is that the show took place September 30, 1989. In his interview with The Flaming Lips Trading Post, Nathan Roberts mentions the Lips playing their show in Normal, IL the night before going to see Nirvana in Champaign, IL. Research shows that the Nirvana show took place on October 1, 1989, placing the Normal, IL Lips show as September 30. Nirvana then opened for the Lips during a memorable show on October 3. "Sratchin' The Door" was an extended jam including several covers.
